5 fall albums we can’t wait to drop

Fall brings so many great things. Cozy sweaters, trees filled with colorful leaves, and all the things pumpkin. And with Fall, as with any new season, comes another bout of new music to close out the year.

Some of the best music of the year typically comes out in Fall, and leaves the rest of the year’s new music trailing behind in the dust of the fallen leaves. This Fall appears to be no exception to year’s past, and has quite a few awesome albums in the making.

Five albums we’re most excited to hear will be released within the next month.

1. Kings of LeonMechanical Bull

Release Date: September 24, 2013
These guys have not released an album since 2010, and had to cancel a tour in 2011 due to vocal exhaustion and some internal issues with the band. It’s been a long time since their most successful album to date, 2008′s Only By the Night, was released, and we’re looking forward to what a bit of vocal rest and relaxation can do for a new album. Preorder the album on iTunes here.

2. Justin TimberlakeThe 20/20 Experience – 2 of 2

Release Date: September 30, 2013
A two part Justin Timberlake album all released in the same year? Yes, please. After wild success with the first part of this album, released in March of this year, Justin Timberlake is serving us a second helping of sexy, and we are first in line to fill our plates. After seven years off the music scene, it’s safe to say Timberlake has followed up 2006′s Future Sex/LoveSounds with an album equally as awesome. We have no doubt Part II will be just as yummy as Part I. Preorder Part II on iTunes here.

3. HaimDays Are Gone

Release Date: September 30, 2013
This Los Angeles-based female trio has released two EPs to date, Forever and Falling, but Days Are Gone will be their full-length debut. And it’s been a long time coming. These girls have been teasing us with EPs and singles since last October, and it will be beyond exciting to hear a full album come together. You can preorder the album on iTunes, here.

4. LordePure Heroine

Release Date: September 30, 2013
It says something when an artist has not yet released a debut album, but has already merited a solid 167k likes on Facebook. And it really says something when that artist is a mere 16-years-old. Lorde (born Ella Yelich-O’Conner), has released a couple of singles and her EP, The Love Club, and already has a steady following of fans, and has celebrities like Selena Gomez covering her songs. Her most popular songRoyals is somewhat of a middle-class teenage anthem, but resonates with people across the world. We cannot wait to see what a full album from this very popular New Zealand teenager brings.

5. Miley CyrusBangerz

Release Date: October 8, 2013
My editor hates me for putting Miley on this list, but after the VMAs I’d be remiss to think people aren’t anticipating this album. “We Can’t Stop” may be a bit more than a guilty pleasure, and it will be interesting to see what other catchy, yet outrageous things Miley can pull off in this one. Not to mention that’s a pretty inviting album cover. It screams Miami in the 90s, don’t you think? Let’s just hope Bangerz is as hot as Miami’s temperatures, or Ms. Cyrus may find disappointment in growing up. Bangerz is available for preorder here.

With these five albums coming out in less than a month (September 30th looks like a music power day, by the way), there should be plenty of awesome tunes to keep our ears busy during the shorter days and longer nights.

I’d like to add One Direction’s next album to this list. Hehehe.

Zoe, I definitely wanted to add that too, but I didn’t know if the world could handle Miley and One Direction in one post… maybe we can get a Part II of this post queued up for the future ;)
