Aside from falling in one of the hottest months of the year, the Fourth of July may be one of the coolest holidays to celebrate. There is no pressure to buy gifts, barbecues are abundant, there is always some kind of red, white, and blue dessert to be eaten, and we get to watch giant colored lights explode in the sky. What’s not to like?
Independence Day, however, is not all about enjoying a day off of work or winning the watermelon toss at your local neighborhood pool. It’s about celebrating America, our home, and one of the greatest countries in the world. It’s about joining together with our fellow Americans to recognize that our freedom is invaluable, and that we live in a beautiful country.
