Let the Extensions Hit the Floor

For long haired ladies, the idea of hacking off inches of hair can send them running for the hills. Heck, if you asked me a few months ago to chop of five inches of my long locks, I would have laughed in your face and said, “No … but seriously, no. Never. Never EVER.”

But listen. I live my life by the rule of, “What Beyonce Says, Goes.” I mean most women do, don’t they? And thanks to the likes of Beyonce, Kim K. and Olivia Palermo, all stylish ladies are hacking off their hair. No, I’m not talking Jennifer Lawrence pixie cuts: I’m talking about the stylish and ever so chic long bob. Spring is all about about giving change a big ol’ bear hug. And the long bob is a great compromise between drastic and classic.

When it comes to “doing our hair,” I’m pretty sure I can speak for all women kind when I say it is the bane of our existence. It is time consuming, annoying, sometimes painful and the reason why we can’t spend those extra peaceful minutes in bed in the morning. By adopting the long bob, we are adopting an easier way of life, ladies. Known for its low-maintenance factor–literally, run your hair through it and shake it out–the long bob can be worn in numerous ways from poker straight to curly and out-of-control. And with so many ways to wear it, it truly can flatter anyone.

I like to call the long bob the must-have accessory of spring 2014. It not only is a great way to embrace a fresh start, but once you do it, you will feel empowered. When once women drooled over the Jessica Simpson-esque coveted extension; now I say, let the scissors speak for themselves.
