Dear - We’re not happy. We were pumped, and you failed us.
Facebook released a tool today that allows users to embed their Instagram photos and videos directly onto sites, blogs – wherever your little heart desires! By embedding posts, users can extend their reach and put Instagram basically anywhere. With the recent introduction of last month, the social media world began to question and compare Instagram to Vine and how they’d differentiate themselves, or basically who would take over as the major video-sharing app. Now, Instagram takes the lead with the embed feature and basically it’s bye-bye Vine. But not to worry – this is not without flaws.
But surprise, surprise – Instagram has released something with bugs. In a first try of the embedding, the app has failed us. The embed code given on the site does not follow through in HTML and does not show the full image or the likes/comments the post has, as you can see above. With some tweaks of the HTML; however, we were able to change that – but still, we’re not happy.
With the ability to embed Instagram posts, users can now expand their influence and garner more likes than the normal mobile application or site allows. The only catch: embedding is only available for posts that are already public.
The new feature, when fixed, will benefit the many aspiring Insta-photographers as this it allows for proper credit and an actual link back to the original source, the source’s Instagram page.
Let us know when you clean up this little spill. Please, and thank you.
