Hailing from New South Wales, Australia is rapper Iggy Azalea. Born Amethyst Amelia Kelly, Iggy Azalea got her stage name from her dog named,”Iggy” and the street that she grew up on called, “Azalea” (Wikipedia). Iggy Azalea is a rapper that’s pushing the boundaries for women. She’s been recognized and nominated for numerous awards and becoming a household name. Azalea attributes her sound to her influences, Tupac and Missy Elliot.
In her newest music video, “Fancy,” Charli XCX is featured on the track. Her concept for her video is extremely cool. We all remember the ’90s, right? The overalls, puffy scrunchies–the plaid? Azalea takes her video a step further by making her entire video Clueless-themed! That’s right, the famous yellow plaid Cher outfit makes an appearance, and there are actors in her video that dress up as Dione, Murray, Amber, Christian, and Tai is portrayed as rapper Charli XCX. The video from start to finish is a masterpiece and touches on the best parts of the classic rom-com. From the catchy lyrics to the Clueless theme, it’s inevitable that Iggy Azalea’s new video is going to go viral in no time. Check out the video for yourself below!
