We’re Sweet On: Bronze Eyeliner

Metallic shades for eyes are big this fall. Liners and shadows in silver, gold and copper graced many of the runways at New York Fashion Week, including Tom Pecheaux for Estee Lauder at Derek Lam and Diane Kendal for NARS at Thakoon. When shadows can sometimes feel cake-like and a bit too much, liners are a great alternative for just about any look.

Scorch from Urban Decay is a member of the 24/7 Glide-On family, so you know it won’t tug at the delicate skin around your eyes and it’s not gonna budge on those days when you have to go from day-to-night. Tip: Put just a touch of this on the inner corners of your eyes. It acts like a light to give your peepers a pretty glow.

This gel formula in Deep Bronze from Smashbox is great for those of you who are well versed in freehand liner application with a brush. It dries quickly and is waterproof and crease resistant, too. Tip: Not so good with your hands? Use the Smashbox Arced Liner Brush #21 for flawless application.

Naturally, Dolce & Gabanna is going to glam out your eyes with their Glam Liner Intense in Baroque Bronze. This one is also waterproof and boasts a richly hued iridescence that shines on and on. Now, if we could all just look like Scarlett Johansen in all those D&G makeup up ads, right? Tip: If you need extra help, cheat a little by lightly dotting on eye pencil first as a guide, then go over it with the liquid liner. Presto! You’re gorgeous.

i’m obsessed with bronze eye liner – I’ve been using it more than black lately! Another great color is a dark olive green! Urban decay makes a great one, and they’re having their 20% off friends and family sale right now!
