Five Stellar Lip Balms on a Budget

I don’t know about you, but I’m a complete chapstick/lip balm-kind-of-girl.  What can I say – I just love the all-natural, effortless look that accompanies a set of bare lips.  Sometimes less really is more.

If you’ve seen , then you may have noticed a neutral lip trend going on there as well.  All the more reason to go the minimalist route this season!

With the arrival of fall in sight and the nuisance of constantly chapped and dry lips falling not far behind, it wouldn’t be a bad idea to start stocking up on your favorite lip balms.  For less than the cost of a latte, you’re sure to find one that fits your needs.  Here are my most coveted lip treatments, let me know what I missed!

1.  eos:  Lip Balm of the Moment

I had been wanting to try eos (evolution of smooth) for the longest time.  A few weeks ago I finally bought into all the hype and was not disappointed.  I picked out summer fruit and I am obsessed.  (And by obsessed, I mean that I find myself constantly applying it all day long.)  100% natural and 95% organic with shea butter and jojoba oil, it goes on fresh and smooth.

Though eos has been on the market for a few years, I feel like it’s finally getting the recognition that it deserves.  From the pretty packaging to its compact, sphere egg-like shape, there’s not one thing that I don’t love about it.  Next up, I want to try another of their delectable flavors like strawberry sorbet or lemon drop (how appropriate, #lemonlove).

2.  Maybelline Baby Lips:  Fun & Flirty

If you don’t want basic lips, then you’ve come to the right place.  I like to call Baby Lips the “Lips Smackers” for grownups simply because they’re that much fun.  My favorite thing about Quenched (a neutral shade) is that it packs just the right amount of glossiness without overdoing it.

For an extra splash of color to your lips, take note that Baby Lips does come in a variety of moisturizing tints including their new series of electro hues.  After one week, Baby Lips claims to make lips “visibly renewed” and “virtually reborn.”

3.  Softlips:  Instant Happiness

I can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something about Softlips that is undeniably simple, sophisticated and pure.  I bought Softlips in watermelon and it glides on smoothly leaving my lips moisturized and content.  Better yet, its slim and chic shape make it ideal for even the smallest of clutches.  Bonus points as it provides SPF 20 protection.

4.  Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm:  The Original

Odds are Burt’s Bee’s classic lip balm may already be in your makeup bag.  The combination of Vitamin E and peppermint oil provide for a no-nonsense standby lip balm that soothes, cools and rejuvenates your lips.  I personally like to put this on before going to bed.  The minty, tingling sensation on my lips is just what I need to catch some z’s and wake up refreshed.

5.  Neutrogrena Naturals Lip Balm:  The Natural Pick

Enriched with Vitamin E bionutrients that prevent and heal dry skin, this lip balm by Neutrogrena is as natural as they come.  As the label says, there are “no harsh chemicals, sulfates, parabens, petrochemicals, dyes or phthalates.”  Like Burt’s Bees, it has a very subtle menthol scent.  I typically apply Neutrogena Naturals during the day and can leave all my worries behind!

Oh man, I LOVE Eos lip balm. They last such a long time and they don’t make your lips sticky or leave you feeling dried out if you don’t re-apply. I also highly recommend Eos’ shaving cream. It’s super hydrating!

The EOS balm is my favorite! It’s the fist lip balm I’ve never lost! It has to be the round packaging! I’ve also tried the Vanilla Bean shaving cream, NEVER using anything else! lOVEEEE it!
