“A long time ago…we used to be friends…but I haven’t thought of you lately at all” – The Dandy Warhols, “We Used To Be Friends”
In 2004, audiences were introduced to Veronica Mars, a smart, mischievous detective’s daughter bent on seeking justice in the polarized, classist town of Neptune, California.
In the season opener, Veronica narrates her exile from the popular and rich 09ers and her mission to discover who killed Lilly Kane, her intriguing best friend and her ex-boyfriend’s sister. From Weevil, leader of the biker gang, the PCHers, to Logan Echolls, Neptune’s rich, bad boy, Veronica was caught between a myriad of suspects including Lilly’s brother, Duncan Kane. In the end, Veronica solved the murder with the help of her father, Keith Mars, and new best friend, basketball star, Wallace Fennel.
Despite solving the murder, mystery surrounds the seaside town of Neptune and when Veronica narrowly misses a school bus mass murder in season two, she must decipher the final moments of the doomed bus. Enlisting the help of computer genius friend, Mac, Veronica realizes the murderer is unknowingly close to her friend, her new love interest, Logan, and his best friend, Dick.
Unable to leave Neptune behind, Veronica moves onto Hearst College with Logan in the final, third season.
Despite the loyal fan base, the series was cancelled after its third season in 2007. Left with an unfinished end to her freshmen year, viewers wanted to know what happened to Veronica?
Fortunately, fans didn’t forget Veronica and Kickstarter uncovered the whereabouts of our favorite Neptune detective. From the footage below, it is going to be quite a story. Fast-forwarding the college years, what would happen to Wallace, Mac and Weevil? Would Veronica join the FBI? Did Veronica and Logan finally work out?
