It’s the greatest time of the year — it’s almost Christmas! I absolutely love Christmas. The decorations, the music, the act of giving, spending time with friends and family and the reason for the season makes Christmas my favorite holiday. Now, with every holiday, there are classic movies you need to watch. I’ve gathered some recent classics that you need to watch this Christmas:

  1. The Santa Clause (1994)

This iconic film starring Tim Allen is a classic Christmas film. In the movie, Allen’s character Scott Calvin kills Santa Claus after scaring him by accidentally sneaking up on him. Scott Calvin becomes Santa Claus and takes on all the duties of Santa. Filled with lots of laughs, Scott Calvin slowly transforms into Santa, and has to keep it a secret from everyone. He tries to explain to his co-workers and family the unexpected weight gain and his white beard, but no one believes him. The Santa Clause is definitely one to watch! Can we just mention that this movie came out in 1994? Talk about a throwback!

  1. Elf (2003)

One of Will Ferrell’s earliest films, Elf is a story about a young boy named Buddy, who is adopted into an elf family. Growing up, Buddy thought he was an elf, but after he started growing bigger than an elf, his adoptive elf father Papa told him he was a human. He gave Buddy a picture of his parents and told him his dad lived in New York. Buddy ventures to New York City in search of his true identity and his family. This movie also stars a young Zooey Deschanel!

  1. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)

In this live-action version of the classic Dr. Seuss tale, actor Jim Carrey takes on the role of the Grinch. The Grinch, a creature who hates Christmas, lives on top of a mountain in Whoville. Whos (the people of Whoville) love Christmas and are afraid of the Grinch. The Grinch makes a little Who friend by the name of Cindy Lou Who. Cindy Lou makes the Grinch believe in Christmas, until he’s humiliated by the rest of the Whos in Whoville. The Grinch then sets out to ruin Christmas. The Christmas spirit of the Whos in Whoville are sure to perk up your Christmas spirit!
