Do all the ’90s babies remember Cory Matthews? The little curly brown-haired boy with the plaid shirt who learned life lessons from his neighbor and teacher Mr. Feeny who grew up on TV? While most of us were saddened when Boy Meets World ended in 2000, recently our teenage hearts burst when we found out that there would be a spin-off series called Girl Meets World on the Disney Channel and it would feature Cory Matthews and Topanga’s daughter Riley. Topanga and Cory will still be portrayed by the same actors (Copanga fans unite!) and according to IMDB, Mr. Feeny will also be making an appearance!
A teaser trailer for the pilot episode of Girl Meets World was just released. The summary of the show on IMDB reads: “A decade after Boy Meets World, Cory and Topanga Matthews are married and have two children. The younger child, a daughter named Riley, faces life lessons through her family, friends and school, as her parents did when they were younger,” (IMDB). Riley Matthews is portrayed by Rowan Blanchard, who is best known for her role as Rebecca Wilson in Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D. The other Matthews child is named Auggie Matthews, who is portrayed by August Maturo who also played 6-year-old Marvin Eriksen on How I Met Your Mother (sorry, I’m still crying from that finale *tear*).
