While UK audiences were delighted by Downton Abbey’s Season 4 Christmas Special on Dec. 25, U.S. audiences have to wait until Sunday for the return of the hit series.
Where did we last leave the Crawley family? After the unfortunate deaths of Lady Sybil Crawley and Matthew Crawley, the series will center on the family restoring itself emotionally and strategically.
Despite their losses, the Crawley family still needs to deal with making their lands sustainable as the former ways of the Dowager Countess of Grantham are dwindling away. This may mean more opportunities for Tom Branson to become a prominent figure in the household affairs. Initially permitted into the family, Tom has focused on life and his daughter Sybil, but may still be struggling with his position within the family.
As there is no turning back in Season 4 Lady Edith Crawley’s love life has finally made a development. As Lady Mary struggles to move past her loss in love, Lady Edith appears to be falling in love with an editor named Michael Gregson.
