Resolving to eat healthier? Make your own granola

If your New Year’s Resolution is to eat healthier, then this granola recipe is right for you! We all think granola is extremely healthy for us, but we’re fooled with added preservatives and added sugar in store-bought varieties. So why not make your own? I guarantee that you will be addicted to this easy and healthy granola!

Sweet Lemon’s Homemade Granola

2 cups raw oats

½ cup nuts (like almonds, pistachios and pumpkin seeds)

½ cup dried fruit (try raisins and cranberries)

¼ cup unsweetened coconut shreds

4 Tbsp. raw honey

2 Tbsp. coconut oil

1 tsp. vanilla extract

3 tsp. cinnamon

 

* Note: you can use any kind of nuts and dried fruit you prefer.

Instructions:

1.     Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

2.     Mix together all of the ingredients

3.     Spread onto a cooking sheet

4.     Bake for 8 to 10 minutes! You want your granola to be a light golden color. Keep an eye out because it can vary in time.

5.     Pour it into a cute mason jar and keep it at room temperature.

To make a yogurt parfait:

1.     Start by adding berries (blueberries and raspberries) to a glass cup.

2.     Layer yogurt, granola and berries a few times until desired serving reached.

3.     Top it all off with your Sweet Lemon Homemade Granola.

And last, but not least, enjoy! You can even just munch on this granola for a crunchy and protein-packed snack.
