Award-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman died Sunday of apparent drug overdose, the Wall Street Journal reported.
According to WSJ:
The 46-year-old actor was found in the bathroom of his fourth floor apartment in the Pickwick House around 11:15 a.m. by screenwriter David Katz, who called 911, a law-enforcement official said. Mr. Katz had been concerned after not being able to get in touch with Mr. Hoffman, the official said.
Law enforcement said a hypodermic needle and what appeared to be heroin were found in Hoffman’s West Village apartment on Bethune Street.
Hoffman won an Oscar for Best Actor in 2005 for his work in the film, “Capote” and was most recently seen in the second film of The Hunger Games series, with the next film set to come out in late 2015.
Our prayers and condolences go out to his family.
