As I was scrolling through my newsfeed the other day, I came across a post from , a Facebook fan page for the Miss Representation documentary and movement that uses outlets like film and media to “expose injustices created by gender stereotypes and to shift people’s consciousness towards change.”

The Representation Project, the group behind the film, is taking on the biggest advertising day of the year – Super Bowl Sunday.

Tonight as millions of people sit down to enjoy game day foods and the Broncos vs. Seahawks showdown, Miss Representation declares to change the way our society is selling sexism and the hyper-sexualization of women in Super Bowl commercials. They’ve  on their Facebook page to get people to join them by using the #NotBuyingIt app to call out companies in real-time during the big game.

In their #NotBuyingIt app, you can upload images, “like” other people’s posts, stamp pictures with the “Not Buying It” hashtag and send messages directly to companies.

Will you be joining them? Join the conversation following  by using the hashtag  to call out brands that use sexism in their Super Bowl commercials.
