1. Tailgate Chairs – Though I rarely end up sitting at tailgates, it’s always a good idea to have a few tailgate chairs on hand. Plus, you can find lots of cute monogrammed options online!
2. Cornhole Set – People love having games to play while eating and drinking for a few hours. Cornhole is easy to transport and set up anywhere. You can get even get a plain wooden set and paint it in your team’s colors!
3. Tables – A collapsible card table is the perfect size to set up snacks and a small bar. Bonus points if you find a school spirited table cloth.
4. Portable gas grill – Having a portable gas grill expands your tailgating food options to hot dogs, hamburgers, sausages, etc. My family even brings a skillet to use on the grill and does fried oysters.
5. Platters – Colorful, team spirited platters are the perfect way to set out all of your delicious tailgate food. Melamine platters are great because they are lightweight and don’t break easily.
6. Cups and Napkins – Might as well make sure everything coordinates!
7. Grill Set – A quick online search turns up grill sets for almost any alma mater. These are a necessary accompaniment to your portable grill.
With all these supplies on hand, all you’ll need is a few go-to tailgate recipes and a cooler full of beverages to be all set for a great football tailgate!
