A few weeks ago, I had a bit of milestone birthday, and in my honor (and because they are amazing) my best girlfriends and I decided to celebrate with a girls’ trip to Las Vegas! Yes, I am aware of how lucky I am. And since these ladies took time out of their crazy, busy lives to celebrate with me, I wanted to do something nice for them. Enter, the Girls Trip BFF Giftbags!
These were fairly simple to put together, and could be made more lavish or a bit more frugal, based on what you fill them with. I just used canvas bags from my local craft store and painted a pink heart in the corner of each with fabric paint. Voila, done! If I were more crafty I could have bedazzled it or something, but I’m not, so this will have to do.
I filled the bags with a few of my favorite goodies:
- A copy of Mindy Kaling’s book, : I loved this book so much, especially the chapter on the BFF honor code, which I marked and highlighted for the girls.
- A pink : We were all staying in one hotel room (reliving our college days), so I figured some snuggling would be in order. I actually pre-washed these after I bought them, since I hate that weird smell of a brand new blanket straight from the store. I’m a nerd.
- A bag filled with Tattly Tattoos: Have you seen Tattly Temporary Tatoos? They are the best invention ever. Simple, graphically amazing temporary tattoos for adults. I got the birthday themed ones and a few funny extras for each girl. I put them each in small brown paper bags, stamped with Elise Joy’s “Today Is” stamps.
- A Vegas Survival Kit: I bought some little makeup bags from the dollar bins at Target and filled them with Vegas essentials, like gum, fake eyelashes, lip smackers chapstick, bandaids for high heel weary feet, etc.
- A cute print by Dallas Clayton: A.K.A. The Happiest Man in the World.
I packed these suckers up and had them shipped to the hotel (they weren’t heavy, just big, and I didn’t want to lug them through the airport… this cost about $20), where I surprised the girls on the first day. I couldn’t ask for a better group of friends, and I hope these giftbags showed them how much I love them.
