DIY Inspiration from Free People

Free People DIY

While searching for some inspiration for this weeks post, I came across Free People‘s blog: BLDG 25, and my goodness how well crafted! It fits Free People’s vintage personality to a tee, and is chock-full of cool and crafty stuff to look at. Definetley something to check out if you like Free People.

I was particularly fond of the DIY tab, and the home decor project: Chalkboard Paint Antique Frames. I had no idea you could make your own chalkboard paint! It seems pretty easy too. What I love most about this is that you can make your own colors. You can use chalkboard paint virtually anywhere, but here they have a tutorial on making a little vintage frame message board.

My mom has raised me to be quite the lover of inspirational quotes and life messages, and because I’m not at home reading our fridge everyday, I’m going to create my own outlet with this frame. It’s nice to have happy, uplifting words to glance at even when life gets crazy.

All you have to do is mix the paint and some grout together and paint it right on the glass. And If you’re feeling extra artsy, you can paint the frame too!

This is just one of the many cute and Etsy-worthy DIY projects on their blog, so if you like things like this, definitely give BLDG 25 a peep.

Bookmarked for a lazy Sunday, indeed!
