Celebrate Every Day Like It’s Your Birthday!

Celebrate Every Day Like It’s Your Birthday!

Full disclosure: Until a few hours ago, I was a tad bit terrified about turning twenty-five next week. I know, I know, I’m not old, but I’m certainly not seventeen anymore (and I have a single gray hair to prove it!). To convince myself that age really is just a number, I plan on ringing in another year by channeling my inner child and eating a cupcake for breakfast (side note: this is considered acceptable behavior for adults) while indulging my sophisticated side and sipping bubbly at dinner. Whether you’re prepping for an upcoming birthday like me or just want to celebrate like it’s your birthday, here are my recommendations for making every day feel special:

Enjoy breakfast in bed: For me, this means a red velvet cupcake, French Press coffee and a mimosa, but red velvet pancakes or a chocolate croissant would also be appropriate for the occasion.

Put on your party dress: Whether it’s a sheath or a sundress, wear something that showcases your personality and makes you feel fabulous. Don’t forget to add a touch of sparkle, such as a glitzy necklace or a glittery pair of heels. After all, it’s your day, so why not throw on a little something shiny for the affair?

Visit a local coffee shop for a frothy, flavored latte: Consuming excess caffeine (with extra foam, please!) is a must, whether it’s your birthday or a Saturday!

Pamper yourself: Treat yourself to something ultra-girly, such as a mani/pedi (complete with Deborah Lippmann’s !), massage, facial, bouquet of flowers or trip to your favorite local boutique.

Have a date night with your man (or the girls!): Grab your boyfriend/hubby (or your go-to group of girlfriends) and head to your favorite restaurant for a celebratory dinner! Sip a glass of well-deserved vino and don’t forget to indulge in something sweet after your meal.

I hope these suggestions will inspire you to live every day like it’s your birthday. I know that when July 30th arrives, I’ll be ready to celebrate just like a proud, cupcake-loving, wine-drinking 25-year-old should!
