Best Dressed at the Emmys

Ah, Awards Show Season.

From now until the Oscars, we get to fawn over gorgeous designer gowns and well-suited men.  While the show itself had some more lackluster moments (Neil Patrick Harris, I expected more) the Emmys started the fashion season off strong with a night of glamour.  From skin-tight gowns, luscious draping, and perfectly styled hair, television’s it gals brought their A-game to the red carpet.

Kiernan Shipka – Yes, I’m irrationally jealous that a thirteen year old has better style than me. The fun print and appliqués kept the Delpozo frock youthful but still on point. She finished her always-sophisticated look with a simple wavy ponytail and strappy heels.

Taylor Schilling – Whoever said you shouldn’t wear white after Labor Day, didn’t know how well Taylor Schilling could pull it off. Her long Thakoon gown showed just the right amount of skin with a front split and just a hint of side cleavage. Her old Hollywood curls complete the look, proving that Schilling is going to be one to watch on the red carpet.

Linda Cardellini – Swoon-worthy is an understatement for this Donna Karen Atelier gown. The gorgeous magenta dress is a splendid color to kick off the first day of fall. Her side swept waves complimented the draping of her dress, shooting Cardellini to the top of the best-dressed list.

Elisabeth Moss – The Mad Men cast certainly knew what they were doing tonight and Moss pulled off old Hollywood glam in her Alexander Gn gown. The black and white dress had just the right amount of sparkle, while Moss’ bright lip and nails were the perfect pop of color.

Kerry Washington – The stunning Washington never leaves us with a doubt in our minds why she is the Best Dressed Women in Hollywood. This stunning cream and white hued Marchesa dress had just a hint of gold that Washington played up in her accessories. Forgoing her signature side-swept locks for simple wavy hair let the dress speak for itself and let Washington stand out on the red carpet.

Anna Gunn – She took home an Emmy and looked gorgeous doing it! Gunn wore a Romona Keveza gown that had a beautiful black asymmetrical bodice. The flowing blush dress is a far cry from the ‘mom jeans’ Gunn frequents on the hit show, “Breaking Bad” and we were happy to see her in such high style.

I absolutely love love loved Sarah Silverman’s black Stop Staring dress. It wasn’t exactly red carpet couture, but I thought she looked so fierce and flawless. Plus, it’s fun to know that I could probably go to http://www.pinupgirlclothing.com/ and buy it for myself! Tina Fey’s brilliant blue Narciso Roderiguez was also absolutely stunning.

    Lauren Chavey

Great picks, Nicole! I loved Allison Williams in Ralph Lauren and Michelle Dockery in Prada. Also, Mayim Bialik’s hair and makeup was beautiful!
