Conversation Hearts

No matter the holiday, my enthusiasm for dressing the part never falters. As far as I’m concerned, holidays are meant to be celebrated…so why not go all out? It doesn’t hurt that I’m quite smitten with the cheekiness that hearts can lend to one’s attire, either.

It’s all about finding that perfect balance…an all red and pink heart-explosion ensemble simply won’t cut it. Small hearts, or multi-colored ones, are the way to go, as they will give you a fun and flirty look throughout the year.

If you’re single this V-Day, don’t fret. Treat yourself to one of these conversation-starting heart pieces and remember it’s just another commercial holiday!

  1. I’m so excited that I’m not the only one with heart-envy this season. Tibi New York must have read my mind when they designed theirValentine’s Capsule Collection. It achieves the perfect blend of cuteness and sophistication, and need not be worn only on February 14th. This silk, heart printed cami would look great paired with a blazer or tucked into a flouncy skirt.
  2. If you’re having a girl’s night in this V-Day, then a comfy, yet chic, sweatshirt is in order. Leave it to Tibi, once again, to come up with an ultra-feminine heart lace pullover.
  3. Thanks to the springy color palette that this Kate Spade scarf boasts, you’ll have ample opportunities to work it into your weekly wardrobe rotation. X’s and O’s, hearts and spades, is there really a difference?
  4. Who isn’t a sucker for elbow patch cardigans (particularly heart-shaped ones)? Even better, it has that borrowed-from-the-boys appeal to it!
  5. Drop some hints to your BF or reward yourself with this ultra sparkly heart bracelet from J.Crew. Just think of all the potential outfit possibilities…I know I am!
  6. Understated is one thing that this Chinti & Parker sweater is not…and that’s okay! I’ll take playful and fun over lovey-dovey any day!
  7. These hearts are so subtle that you may have to look twice, but I promise, the print is undeniably heart-tastic! Wear this Jack Wills blousefor Valentine’s Day or even on the Fourth of July (it’s red, white and blue – imagine that!).
  8. Edgy, yet still totally sweet, there’s no reason why you can’t sport this heart studded wallet year-round!
  9. A frugal find: This oversized, heart-shaped ring from Forever 21 can be yours for less than $5. That’s cheaper than a box of chocolates!
