I am a self-proclaimed product junky. As a result, I have a mix of high- and low-priced products in my arsenal, and am always eager to try the less expensive version of my staple products. While I am often able to find well-priced cosmetic and hair products that I love (stay tuned for my next post– “Best Drugstore Beauty Buys!”) I have also come to the realization that sometimes shelling out a few extra dollars can make a big difference when it comes to certain beauty products. Below are some of my favorite splurge-worthy products that I swear by!
Clinique Acne Solutions Liquid Makeup: In high school, this foundation was my lifesaver. While I never suffered from truly terrible acne, I had run-of-the-mill teenage blemishes. This makeup kept them covered all day long and did not irritate my skin like other acne-fighting makeup products. Luckily, my skin has since cleared up, but this is still my go-to for keeping it that way!
Moroccanoil Treatment: The original product from , this hair oil works unlike any other in taming flyaways, keeping a blowout smooth, and combating frizz. Plus, a little goes a long way so despite the price tag the bottle lasts a long time.
NARS Orgasm/Laguna: I use both NARS’ Laguna bronzer and Orgasm blush religiously, so when they came out with their 2-for-1 Highlighting/Bronzing Blush Duo that included both colors I knew I had to have one. Both shades are universally flattering – I am extremely fair and the blush warms up my cheeks while the bronzer gives me a light, sun kissed look without muddying up my skin.
Yves Saint Laurent Touche Éclat: This highlighting pen is pure magic. It comes in a range of flattering shades, and provides just the right amount of luminosity without making your skin look sparkly or greasy, and it doesn’t budge for hours. After a late night out it’s just what you need to perk up your face the next morning.
St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse: As stated above, I am very fair skinned. And while I’m all for embracing one’s natural beauty, sometimes – especially during the summer or while on vacation – there’s nothing wrong with a bit of a fake glow. I have tried various self-tanning products and this one just takes the cake. Easy to apply and very hard to mess up, St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse is the crème de la crème of self-tanning. I also am a fan of their Dark Bronzing Mousse, but be warned– it goes on with a bizarre dark olive green color (used to combat the look of an orange tan) so put it on straight before bed and hope that the fire alarm does not go off while you’re asleep!
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner: I had always been intimidated by liquid eyeliner, and had considered it as occasional party makeup, until I tried Stila’s. The felt tip deposits an even amount of color as you trace it along your eye and is easy to control. It took me a few practice rounds but getting the hang of this eyeliner has ended up becoming a huge timesaver for me during my morning routine.

The Morrocanoil Treatment is amazing!!! One of the beauty items I will spurge for my hair. Great for the ends.
My question is for the foundation, did it stay well during hot days, or just stressful times. As I am getting close on looking for my first entry level position I want to cover up some of my acne.

Just bought the NARS blush and I love it!
I bought the travel size of NARS’ ‘Super Orgasm’ blush even though it was expensive for just a small thing. I love it!
