The summer heat is slowly making it’s way back into our lives. Humidity and heat are make-up’s worsts enemies. But don’t fret! I’ve created a easy dramatic look to give your face a beautiful glow with a luscious lip, but without all of the heavy make up.
If you have experienced make up running and eye shadow wearing off mid day during the summer opt for the minimal eye look by using one color on your eyes, and then wear a bright, luscious lip color. Using the right products will make a world of difference. I simply used my Too Faced “Shadow Insurance” base all over my lid followed by Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Waterproof Cream Eyeshadow. It’s important that if you plan on wearing liner on a hot day, you use a waterproof to avoid smudging. I’m a big fan of Smashbox’s Jet Set Waterproof Eye Liner.
If you plan on purchasing a few new things for the summer, make sure the products state that they are water proof and long lasting. I used these three products to create the eye make up I am wearing in the photos below. I have narrowed down some of my favorite luscious lipsticks! This look will definitely be my “go to” this summer.
- Make Up Forever / Rouge Artist Intense #38 - This gorgeous satin coral lipstick is so pigmented because it’s formulated with 50% more pigment than their traditional lipstick. I love Make Up Forever lipstick because it always has a creamy texture and lasts long.
- Smashbox / Be Legendary Lipstick “Fuchsia Flash” - I absolutely love this matte fuchsia color. Smashbox lipsticks are packed with vitamins C and E to keep your lips smooth and bold all at the same time!
- Mac Cosmetics / Mineralize Rich Lipstick “Elegant Accent” - This is one of my newest lipsticks and I absolutely adore it. I have been using it daily because it’s a long lasting lipstick and instantly moisturizes my lips. MAC recently came out with these “Mineralize Rich” lipsticks which have a lightweight formula, yet still has build-able coverage.
- NARS / Sheer Lipstick “Manhunt” paired with NARS / Larger Than Life Lip Gloss “Norma” - I have searched high and low for a perfect red lipstick to compliment my skin tone. I finally found the color “Manhunt” by NARS, which by itself is a sheer, long lasting pigmented lipstick and has a translucent consistency, yet I have found it to be quite build-able. NARS has wonderful nursing lipsticks which are formulated to improve and protect the lips. I’ve paired it with a wonderful lip gloss – “Norma” – to add a little more red and shine to my lips.
- Mac Cosmetics / Lipstick “Rebel” – In the makeup world, Rebel Lipstick is where it’s at. It’s a deep fuchsia berry color with a glossy finish. This lipstick is very pigmented and probably the most darkest lip color I own, but also one of my favorites! It’s a dark bold lip that is daring with out being too vampy!
