6 Products for the Dehydrated Body

In the midst of my caffeine addiction and this never-ending winter horror (can you guess my feelings about winter?), I am constantly looking for the best products to trick my skin, my hair, and just my body in general into looking refreshed and rejuvenated at all times, and it’s just a bonus if it somehow does save the Sahara desert that is my skin and hair after my four lattes a day and constant lack of hydration. I’ve spent more money and time than I care to admit on this endeavor, but I’ve finally collected the perfect list of products that balance out my nutrient sucking lifestyle with their hydrating ingredients.

Hydrating Skin

1.   Organix Hydrating Macadamia Oil Intensive Mask: I do this mask on my hair at least once a week, leaving it in for about 3-5 minutes after shampooing. It says on the label if you have super damaged hair you can leave it for 20 minutes even so go for it! It works like a charm.

2.   Smashbox Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer: This eye primer is actually magical. It’s a primer for your cover-up, plus it has ten other benefits. It aids in “hydration, dark circles, puffiness, radiance, fine lines and wrinkles, texture, skin tone, age spots, clarity, soothing.” I’ve actually noticed instant improvement just using it alone even before putting on eye makeup. My adorable mother handed this product to me in the store and told me I should really buy it, supportive I know but I appreciate it now.

3.   Mac Fix +: Just spray this on before putting on any lotion, primer, or makeup to your skin to soothe and hydrate your pores. It contains ingredients like green tea and chamomile that really boost the health and brightness of your skin. Plus, it has the bonus of keeping your makeup stay on longer. At first, I felt like I was just spraying water on my face, but I was soon convinced my actual results.

4.   AmLactin Moisturizing Lotion: I’m pretty sure I’ve used this lotion since middle school when I was a competitive swimmer, and my skin was in a constant state of dry and damaged. It’s the only lotion that’s ever really worked, and we are in a serious committed relationship. I get constant comments on my how my skin is never dry when it’s really all thanks to this product. If you take any of my advice, use this!

5.   Chi Silk Infusion Reconstructing Complex: This is the only reason my ridiculously thick hair doesn’t look like I stuck my finger in the socket every morning. Maybe that and my pleading that with my hairdresser that she thin my lioness mane out at every appointment. This stuff instantly has your hair silky and glossy without the oil and keeps it that way all day long. You know it’s good because it comes from the Chi line too. I haven’t strayed from it since high school.

6.   Garnier Fructis Sleek & Shine Leave-In Conditioning Cream: Just run this cream through your wet hair after a shower and applying heat to it every day will having you feeling a little less guilty for it. It keeps it a lot softer and healthier, plus you can use it every day without weighing your hair down. Tres parfait!
