ICYMI, Miley Cyrus broke the news on Saturday Night Live that Hannah Montana is, in fact, dead.
“I can give you an update on what she’s been up to,” Cyrus said. “She was murdered.”
We did get a glimpse of the old Miley, though. Played by Vanessa Bayer, the old Miles was innocent to a fault and nasally to perfection. It wasn’t quite clear who they were making fun of: Miley pre-transformation, or the twerking queen of the current day, but there were plenty of jokes for each to go around.
The new-Miley sexed-up Michelle Bachmann during the episode, made a sex tape, and acted like a ghetto high school girl. Each role played into her new image, continuing to squash the old. Following her murderous comment, it was nothing short of a try-hard attempt to make the public forget her innocent past.
Is it a phase? Is this the real Miley? Or is it just a perfectly placed publicity stunt?
Whatever it is its garnered her large amounts of press attention at the right time. In a true testament to overcompensation, Miley Cyrus with her short hair and her long tongue is forcibly urging the public to forget everything that happened before her eclectic public epiphany. With murderous intentions she kills anything that may remind us of her southern drawl and innocent demeanor. But let us not forget two things: Miley’s name is, in fact, Destiny Hope and she did once do music videos that involved clothing, guitar-playing, and cowgirl boots matched with rural, scenic backdrops. Yes, we’re talking ““
