There’s just something about that wholesome, timeless comedy that instantly puts me in a better state of mind. No matter what is going on between the Ricardos and the Mertzes, the viewer is guaranteed a lot of laughter. I mean, how great is that?
I decided to think about what exactly it is that makes “I Love Lucy” so wonderful, and, well, that list would be endless. So, for today, I have narrowed it down to what it is about the great Lucy Ricardo that helps me put things in perspective after a rough day.
Here are the top 3 Lucy Ricardo traits that I think we could all benefit from embracing:
#3: Fight For What You Want
Lucy Ricardo was determined. While the husband-wife roles were still very traditional in the show, Lucy was ahead of her time. She wanted to be in show business and watch out anyone who tried to stand in her way! Bottom line: Feel destined for something greater? Go after it!
#2: Keep Your Friends Close
Even in the midst of her greatest schemes, Lucy always cherished her family and friends. Ricky, Little Ricky, Fred, and Ethel are key to her happiness and together they create a wonderful support system. Bottom line: Don’t forget the people who are most important.
#1: Never, Ever Stop Laughing
This one’s pretty self-explanatory. Lucy Ricardo has fun, and she reminds us how important it is to laugh, just be silly, and enjoy life. Bottom line: “Laughter is the best medicine” is a cliché for a reason—it’s true!
