It has been proven in psychological studies that those with a sweet tooth tend to have a sweeter disposition. So this is a special recommendation for dessert lovers everywhere.
Ironically, I do not actually have a huge sweet tooth, but probably more of a fat tooth. I love anything that is succulent and rich, but not too nauseating. The Banana Pudding from Magnolia Bakery definitely fits in that category. Even though I’m not actually a huge banana fan, as soon as I took my first bite, I knew I had discovered heaven. The Banana Pudding is made fresh at the bakery, mixing bananas, cake, and multiple other creams and secret ingredients to make a melt-in-your-mouth dessert, or snack. While the Banana Pudding is probably the most popular item, Magnolia keeps you coming back with their cupcakes and pastries. My recommendations: the Red Velvet cupcake and cheesecakes.
It’s not only the sweet treats that keep people coming back and lines wrapping around the sidewalk, even at 10PM at night. It’s cute, lacy, interior with pastel colors rimming the sides make you want to sit in there and eat forever. There are multiple locations in Manhattan, and also spots to satisfy that sweet tooth in LA and Chicago. The staff are always friendly and always busy. Be sure to know what line you’re standing in because at some of the locations, there’s a line for the cupcakes, a separate line for the Banana Pudding, and another line for payment.
I have yet to meet anybody who doesn’t like the Banana Pudding, even people who generally don’t like creamy textures or even bananas. It’s a culinary religion that’s spreading, against the odds of the health craze. But bananas have potassium, so it’s healthy…right?
Now go out and get yourself some of that Banana Pudding.
