St. Patrick’s Day is quickly approaching which means green will soon adorn everything in sight, including our food and drink. But if you’re not one for artificially colored beer, a more natural cocktail might be your way to get festive. This crisp cocktail includes a spicy ginger simple syrup which is mellowed out by refreshing lime juice.
Emerald Fizz Cocktail
Ingredients:
For the cocktail:
- 2 oz. vodka
- 3 oz. club soda
- 1 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice
- 1 oz. ginger simple syrup
- 10 Fresh mint leaves
For the ginger simple syrup:
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp. grated ginger
Directions:
To make your own ginger simple syrup, combine sugar, water, and fresh grated ginger in a small saucepan over medium heat. Simmer until sugar is dissolved and let syrup cool to room temperature.
Muddle 6-8 mint leaves at the bottom of a cocktail shaker and add in ice. Combine the vodka, lime juice, and simple syrup. Shake until cold. Pour into a Collins glass and fill with club soda. Garnish with remaining mint and a lime wedge. Cheers!
