So it’s football season… while that may not be your go-to Sunday activity, there is one thing that everyone can enjoy, and that’s the game day snacks. Perfect for viewing parties or just kicking it with the guys, this recipe has the power to both make the guys drool (over something other than their beer), or make the football tolerable, whatever you may want.
At first glance, this may seem complicated to assemble, but trust me – it’s as easy as a Brady-to-Gronk touchdown pass (had to get one plug in there – you’ve got a die-hard Pats fan here!). Another fun twist? You can make a couple quick swaps to turn this into a Buff. Chick. dish – directions below. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
1 cup red onion, chopped
Barbeque sauce to taste (about 8-12 oz)
3 chicken breasts, diced/shredded chicken and cooked
2 packages crescent rolls
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. On a cooking sheet, spread the unrolled crescent rolls out, leaving a small circle in the middle. Mix chicken, onion, and cream cheese until blended. Add barbeque sauce to taste.
Place spoonfuls of mixture on crescent rolls and fold rolls over to form a ring shape. Cook for about 15 minutes, or until crescent rolls are nicely browned.
For a Buff. Chick. Ring:
-Use Buffalo sauce instead of barbeque
-Swap in chopped celery instead of onion
-Add ½ packet of Ranch dressing mix to the cream cheese before adding to chicken and celery
Try either version (or your own!) and let us know how it comes out! Was the final product as drool-worthy as promised?
