Maybe it’s silly, but none of my outfits feel complete without the special touch of a statement ring. On any given day, you can bet that I’ll be sporting some serious hardware on at least one of my fingers. What can I say, I’m a ring connoisseur in the best sense. While I may not own the iconic YSL ‘Arty’ ring (at least not yet!) or one of David Yurman’s timeless pieces, I like to think I know my stuff when it comes to shopping for rings on a budget.
The best news is that you don’t have to spend a fortune to accumulate an assortment of go-to rings. Here are a few of the places that I frequent most when I’m looking to add a new ring to my collection:
- Forever 21 (average price: $1.50-$6.80)- If you’re on a budget, then Forever 21 is the perfect place to start. Over the past few years, I’ve been very pleased with what F21 has to offer, particularly online. From the latest ring trends (i.e. chevron rings, stacked ring sets, sparkling bouquet rings) to more timeless wear-with-everything rings, there’s always something that catches my eye. Granted, they do tarnish quicker than genuine metals would, but if you take care of them, they’re actually pretty long-lasting. For under $10 per ring, I really can’t complain.
- Banana Republic ($25-$45)- The moment I enter Banana Republic, I always head straight to their jewelry section (it’s that good!). In contrast to Forever 21’s of-the-moment trendy rings, Banana offers a robust selection of classic and contemporary jewelry. While more expensive, Banana’s offerings tend to be made of a heavier metal (often 10K gold plated) and better quality gemstones. I like to refer to them as “cocktail ring central.” They’re appropriate for everyone from the career-savvy fashionista to the fun loving college socialite. Moderately priced, if you can’t afford real diamonds and jewels, here’s the next best thing.
- Kate Spade ($38-$98)- I must confess that I love everything designed by Kate Spade. That said, when I want a ring that is extra-special, slightly whimsical or simply stunning, Kate Spadeis where I go. Their selection will satisfy even the most discriminating of tastes. From their dazzling oversized cluster ring to the iconic, oh-so charming bow ring, there’s a finger jewel for every occasion. Each is pre-boxed (with a bow!) and produced with exceptional quality. Let’s just put it this way, at Kate Spade, I’ve never met a ring that I didn’t like.
Target, Francesca’s Collections, Ann Taylor, BCBG and H&M are a few of the stores that didn’t make my list, but are definitely worth checking out!
