One of my favorite trends this season is the ever-so-tricky print mixing. A look that can easily go wrong with one too many floral or polka dot prints, this look can also come across as fun, chic and is the perfect extra touch of personality to your own unique style. If you’re not a pro at the pattern-play, keep reading for some helpful tips, fun examples and budget-friendly options!
Print Mixing: The Fashionably Lo Way
On my style blog, Fashionably Lo, I have become slightly obsessed with incorporating this trend into my daily life. Lucky to work in PR, I have been able to take some risks and feature some more unique style choices into my regular business-wear.
As you can see, the floral print is clearly one my favorites. The perfect print for spring and summer, it’s pretty easy not to love it, right? For most of my looks, I decided to keep it fresh and bright by pairing a fun leopard accessory or classic stripe. One of the most important tips for creating a look containing several prints is to keep everything in the same color palette. Whether it’s a range of pinks, corals and oranges like outfit two in the first group or tossing on two similar prints like the last double-floral number, as long as the colors are close you’re all set for a chic and modern look.
Here are some other great tips:
If you’re afraid of the trend or not ready to take a huge risk, try pairing a printed heel with a bag or clutch in a cool pattern. For a cool and casual look, style your trendier pieces with a classic tee and boyfriend jeans.

Keep it flirty and feminine by pairing a fun, floral or striped dress with an edgy leopard heel. Make sure the accessories are simple and classic so the look doesn’t go overboard.

Ready for a full on print-mixing frenzy? Take pieces in the same hue and rock out a different print for your top, bottoms and accessory. Neutral shades help to keep the look feminine and modern – definitely not boring

So whether you are ready to take the plunge or you’re looking to just incorporate a few fun prints into your wardrobe, creating looks that are feminine, edgy, modern and classic will never get old. Mixing prints and okaying with patterns is the perfect way to take you look to the next level so have some fun and maybe even get a little crazy!
